But All We Are Known To Android A Lot. It has the Highest market share than any Other OS, Especially in Smartphone sector.
So...Let's Start.
Android Is A Product created by ANDY ROBIN and team in 2003, who had worked for Apple.When he decided to create an OS The co-worker helped him in choosing the name for his OS. So they have chosen half "AND "from his name and "ROID" from Robot because of Andy Robin Likes Robots.
ANDROID = And(Name) + Roid(Robot).
Initially, The android is used for the Operating System for Digital Cameras.But After that Google Made it available for the phone to make them smart. So after Google's this action, Phones start becoming more featured and popular with Android OS. Do you know what is the Price of Android At That Time, When Google purchased it? Google Paid Approx $50 Million, to the initial owner (ANDY ROBIN) of Android OS.
Now The Google was introducing a New OS for phones in Market.
1. ALPHA(1.0) : 23-Sep-2008
The very first version of the android is (Not a CodeNmae) Alpha, It is taken may be as an alpha testing of a new OS. Alpha Version. The user only Model - G1 mobile owners.
Key Features in ALPHA OS:
Android Market, Web Browse, Google Calculator, Camera, Google Contact Tools, Dialer, Email, Google Maps(With Street View), Media Player, Google Search, Messaging, Music, Pictures, Settings etc.
2. BETA (1.1) : 2-Feb-2009
It was a 2nd version beta for testing but has limited for just only HTC Dream owners for testing purpose. In this Google tried to enhance and add new features for users.
Features of BETA OS: (It Upgraded Alpha Features)
User Research on Maps, Show/Hide DialPad, Save Attachments in messages, Marquee in System layouts etc.
3. CUPCAKE(1.5) : 30-Apr 2009
It is Android's 1st Version released by the Google officially. Now It was For all the public with the Official Name "CUPCAKE". This was the first time when GOOGLE PLAY STORE launched in 2008, basically, it was changed from the store named "ANDROID MARKET".

Key Features Of Eclair OS: It was introduced GPS for the first time in a smartphone.

- It was an OS Operating System Comes with enhanced more features.
And Live wallpaper, Digital Zoom, HTML, Inherited Feature and Updated UI.
6. FROYO(2.2) : 20-May-2010
Key Features of FROYO OS:

- Voice assistance for phone searching, Making assistant for making notes,

- Dalvik JT Compiler which enhanced, user experience according to that time of User Experience by 5x.
